Description
What this world needs right now is some big guitar, loud drum, sing along with rock ‘n’ roll songs and if you feel like you have been missing some of that then you have found the right band because that’s just what you’re getting with The Alive’s new album Turned Up To Destroy (Sexy Devil Music Vol 1). This will be the first full-length album from the Arkansas USA based band and it doesn’t disappoint.
Rock ‘n’ roll music was never meant to be politicly correct or safe. It’s always been a musical journey of self-discovery and letting your wild side run free. That’s exactly were The Alive stands when writing and playing. They want everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves by grooving to our tunes and forget about their troubles even if it’s only for just an hour or two.
The group wanted to honour the spirt of bands like AC-DC, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, KISS and the like but this didn’t prove hard because these bands are major influences of theirs. The Alive believe in the riff and driving that thunderous beat around it. Turned Up To Destroy will hit you from the very first song and keep you hanging tight for the ride all the way to the end.
What The Alive has managed to put together in this tight package is a one-way ticket of loud and proud tunes fashioned together for your sonic pleasure. The band have created what they feel is one hell of a rock ‘n’ roll album that has all the right ingredients to deliver songs that will stick with you for years to come!
Turned Up To Destroy – track-by-track:
Where Are My Animals – an in-your-face call to arms anthem. It’s time to crawl out from the shadows and let the world see you for what you are. Just a bunch of rock n roll animals.
All The Way To Babylon – everyone feels like they have that other side of themselves. That inner voice that slowly takes you for a ride and to the other side.
Hard Enough – shows you that when the world is throwing you down and you hit the bottom that it’s not week to let someone be there and help you back up.
Lemon Crush – it’s all about the women that make the world go round and round.
All My Friends Are Vampires – let’s just party through the night till the sun come up.
Come Get Some – we are here and not going anywhere. If you are not ready for this explosion that we call rock ‘n’ roll then you are not ready to get some.
High On You – addiction comes in many shapes and forms and sometime high heels too.
The Real Thing (Love’s A Bitch) – love can be hard, love can be war and true love can be a stick of dynamite waiting to explode.
Haunting Me – when you have a past that hangs heavy on your soul like a ghost that won’t let you forget.
This Is Rock And Roll – …is exactly what you are getting. We don’t pretend and we don’t make any apologies. This is what we do and who we are!

This is a band with one foot set in the 70’s and another in the 80’s, exploring and delivering easygoing hard rock with catchy elements and raspy vocals, neatly and nicely alternating between 70’s and 80’s glam and sleaze oriented varieties of the style, and with the traditional ballad-oriented cuts present and accounted for too …read more

With « Turned Up To Destroy », the band offers us a first album, which does not revolutionize the genre, but its variety will interest fans of the genre of the 70s, as well as those who would like to discover the outlines of this period of reference. THE ALIVE deserves an interest in its music, especially since many tracks should give an excellent rendering on stage …read more
