Description
On the new EP, Harder & Heavier, Swedish group Horse Of Troja create music that is steeped in classic 80’s hard rock, drawing influences from legendary bands like Whitesnake, among others. The sound is a nostalgic yet fresh journey through the riffs and rhythms of a golden era of rock music, and they’re passionate about bringing this classic vibe to new and existing fans alike.
Track-by-track by the band:
Leaving – This is one of the band´s favourite songs. The lyrics is about letting go and leave your safe world behind, which all of us restless souls probably can relate to. It is like when you reach a point where you simply have to make a change – and you go for it! The composition consists of a couple of different sections that actually fit together really nice: The main riff that runs as intro and also serves as foundation for the chorus part is quite agressive, with a not so common 6/4-time signature, the verse section modulates to a major key, and in the pre-chorus the rythm drops to half-time, building up again tow ards the main riff.
Harder & Heavier – A groovy, in your face main riff kicks of this old-school rock thing about an unstoppable force that you better just roll along with because there is nothing you can do anyway.
Instant Drug – This is a straightforward rock song and great to perform live. The main riff is a bit bluesy and open for variations. The lyrics are about that special girl that takes your breath away, and that you just can’t get enough of.
No Mercy – Music and lyrics move together in picturing the dark and destructive side of getting addicted, may it be to drugs, alcohol or even to a person.
