Description
Swedish project Thundermaker are ready to unleash the new album, The Road, worldwide via Sliptrick Records on September 14th. The album contains 10 tracks of the purest heavy metal with various songs featuring special guest vocalists such as Ronny Munroe (Metal Church), Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest/Iced Earth), Rille Larsson and L-G Petrov (Entombed).
Here’s the ofiicial press release from Thundermaker; “The Road is an album that’s very personal and deals with our mental journeys and the awakening of our souls. It’s also a story about how we treat each other and react to the circumstances surrounding us. Every song has a story to tell and there’s a red line between them all, as it all comes down to how we deal with relationships in every form.
The album is mostly written about the spiritual journey and the road with your mirror twin. If you listen carefully to the lyrics, I hope you’ll find them meaningful and inspirational. How it all began, the road we travel together, how we see each other and what our goals are. These journeys really can make you grow as a person and achieve wonders where you once doubted yourself.
These songs can also be interpreted in a different way. You can see them as how you can grow as a person and help others, not following the norm, standing up for yourself, to see the light when there’s only darkness and how to come to that point in life. The Road is where we are headed, not dwelling in the past and looking to the future ahead.
The topic above raises some deep questions and its up to the listener to connect the music and lyrics to the kind of journey that they are on. Whether the relationships in itself are physical or spiritual, they all can be demanding, joyful, filled with laughter, tears and have their ups and downs. All in all, it’s a story about life ….your journey, and to follow your heart, dreams and goals.”

Swedish band Thundermaker is out with the album “The Road”, and this is a production for metal fans to take note of. It is a majestic variety of the form that is explored here, with massive and majestic guitar riffs leading the way and where the main vocalists featured have a slightly raspy, powerful but also melodic style and orientation. Floating keyboard textures adds a slight symphonic quality to some of the songs, and provides a more elegant contrast to the chugging, beefy guitar riffs that otherwise dominate the instrument department. A production that should find most favor among those with a strong affection for an 80’s variety of majestic and mainly mid-paced heavy metal …read more
