Description

Solve Coagula, the third opus from French band DeathAwaits, is a powerful mix of diverse influences like Thrash, Death or even Hardcore. Darker and more powerful than their last album, every track of Solve Coagula invites you to enter various tortured universes; filled with doubts, questioning and darkness directly from the minds of the musicians. The composition of the album took a important turn with the participation of Jordan (arrived in 2014 as guitarist) who put forward a more direct, more melodic but also more technical aspect to the music. All this without losing the dark and brutal aspect that defines the DeathAwaits style.

The band took a further step forward due to the collaboration with the Vamacara Studio in Clisson! Solve Coagula is a must for fans of Benighted, Dying Fetus, Slayer, Sepultura, etc.

DeathAwaits recently released their first single from the album coupled with it’s official video. Brainless rouses the senses and is a perfect starting point for a great body of work. Check it out below!

With all the material that’s out there, it’s never surprising to initially discover a band only to find out they’ve been putting some serious time in beforehand. Case in point with the French act DeathAwaits, who have previously honed their chops with two full-length albums before their latest release, Solve Coagula, came along. With only being exposed to this release, it’s still safe to say that those who want more death/thrash in their life will find Death Awaits to be some strong comfort food …read more

Solve Coagula vous conviendra …read more

When stacked up against previous albums, Solve Caligula is somewhat of a departure. There is less of a brutal death metal feel in almost every aspect, and this works mostly to the positive. While occasional similarities to bands like Benighted can be drawn, it feels less like they’re chasing the tails of these more brutal bands than it has in the band’s prior output. Despite this, the album has a heavier sound due to tighter songwriting and has a clearer sense of focus and identity overall. I can see Solve Coagula in my regular rotation for some time to come, and if Death Awaits continue to develop their sound further down this road, I hope to see them gaining a lot more attention in the European Death Metal gig Circuit …read more
