Description
Kali Pacіače Nіeba is a debut EP of the Belarusian post/doom-metal band Adliga (Eng: ‘thaw’). Exploring classic doom metal themes of fate, loneliness, struggle, decline and collapse, each song wraps the subjects and styles into a unique form that melts post-metal and doom-metal with lyrics inspired by Belarusian literature, folklore and poetry. Kali Pacіače Nіeba consists of 3 main songs and 2 instrumental bridges (Nakanavannie and Buraviesnik), sewing all the material together into one epic canvas.
Vandrounik, which means “Wanderer”, tells the story of a man roaming through the desert, searching for a better place while facing the need for water, shelter and rest. Questioning his motives and dreams, the wanderer perseveres and is eventually rewarded when the rain pours down on him.
The title song Kali Pacіače Nіeba, meaning “When The Sky Begins To Flow”, is an apocalyptic epic about the world rising to crush humanity, along with all its petty squabbles, its happiness and sadness, its envy and anger.
Boj, meaning “Battle”, is the final song of the EP and it’s the most violent one. It is a loose description of a confrontation between two armies, from its ominous beginning and its gloomy end.

Such works like this are not common whatsoever as doom and post-metal don’t often find a home together where they gel as well as they do here, but it’s Adliga that shows us in every single track why it’s such prime real estate for many magnificent works to sprout forth from. “Kali Paćjače Njeba” is surely just the beginning for this band, and I truly can’t wait to see what else they’re capable of …read more

In general, I see a competent band, who knew how to explore their creativity very well and brought us an excellent job, being cohesive, technical and dynamic, the vocals alternating between the melodic and the aggressive do well here, one of the highlights, in addition to the native language make a very good difference to the style. Be sure to check out this great record …read more
